We’ve been on the lookout for a cat for a while now. I’ve messaged so many people in the marketplace asking if they were selling one, but every time I’d reach out, the cat would already be unavailable.
Then yesterday, one of our family friends reached out asking if we’d be interested in a Persian kitten. We were so excited! I quickly showed the picture to my daughter, and she was thrilled. I messaged our family friend right away and asked if they could bring both of the kittens over so we could choose.
We were torn between getting a boy or a girl, but in the end, we chose the girl. She’s absolutely adorable and so sweet. She’s still a little scared, but we’re slowly helping her adjust to the house and our two dogs.
We have two pups, Kaya (a mini Goldendoodle) and Kylo (a Shih Tzu-Poodle mix). On the second day, Kaya was already over the new kitty, but Kylo still gets a little too excited when she’s around. We’re taking it slow and introducing them gradually to desensitize them.
We named her Kiyomi. Mimi, our daughter, has been in the room with her non-stop, feeding her, caring for her, and even looking online for things to buy for her. She won’t even let me get too close to Kiyomi because she wants the kitten to imprint on her only, lol.
So now we have four kids, hehe. We’re just so excited. Having a new kitten in the house brings so much joy. If you have any tips on how to introduce dogs to kittens or how to care for them, feel free to leave a comment below!
