In school, we are taught that nursing is an art and a science. This translates to science explaining the work of nurses and art which forms the connection between the nurse and their patients. Through the many interactions we get to experience with our patients, nursing makes one’s heart bigger and turns us into someone more compassionate inside and outside the hospital setting. As we see firsthand how life could be short and unpredictable, this also makes us cherish every moment. Be it with our family, colleagues, and our patients. We see through other people even when they don’t speak with us through words.
In conclusion, nursing is a tough profession that challenges us both in the work setting and our personal lives. But at the end of the day, our hearts speak louder.
