One of the things that I’ve longed and prayed for in my career was to work for a company that valued your thoughts and ideas. I was so happy that I stumbled upon my current company in indeed. Of course, I looked at their info and how long they have been around in the wound care world, and at that time, they were only three years old. I was skeptical because, well, theyre knew. Are they set up? Do they have good medical insurance? How many vacation/sick/PTO days? How is PTO acquired? are the bosses nice?… These are just the typical questions you would like to know when getting into a new job. I did my interview, and I was interviewed by the Head of HR and the National Medical Director!! Of course, I was nervous, haha, as always! But they were fantastic! Smiley, we were laughing in that call, and I had this ease after that interview and felt that this is an excellent company. Alas, after a few negotiations, I accepted the offer. And I haven’t looked back since. I realized that sometimes it’s nice to bet on a newer company because they are willing to grow and eager to listen to new ideas, while older companies are already set in their old ways and will not budge or change.
I have a very, very good feeling that this company will take over the wound care world! The Wound Pros are coming, though!!!! Watch out, world.
Do you have any interview tips for this company? I am fortunate to have the opportunity to interview with them for a NP role. I am a new grad NP, naturally a bit nervous, but The Wound Pros sound like an amazing company to work for. Thanks!
Hi Kath! I am so happy for you. I’ve been for the company for more than a year already and still, I am so happy to be here. For Interview trips since you are a new grad and with little to no would experience I would concentrate on things like willing to learn and flexibility with your time. If you were an RN in an area that had wound care in it for example, I was in the OB world so I focused also on knowing how to identify infection after surgery and ensuring that patients incisons were not dehicing. What ever RN job you did, talk about the wound care aspect that you did in that role. Over all in the company, if you state that you are a team player you would be good to go 🙂 Goodluck! If you have more questions message me in the instagram @vanthenp
Thank you, Van, this is so helpful! I am very excited to interview! I do not have instagram so I hope you don’t mind if I ask a few more question on here. Would you say the questions they ask are more experience/behavioral/personal based? Or should I also expect clinical scenarios? I am interviewing with another candidate – did you have that experience and if so, what was that like? Finally, given your experience at the company, do you think it is a good place for a new grad to start? The company sure does seem to have a very supportive culture and robust training. Thank you SO much!
Hi Kath, when I did my initial interview I was also with 2 other candidates. They do ask about your experiences in would care and probably why you would be a good candidate for this job. The company is a great place for new grads actually. We have rigorous education and clinical training and we have regular check ins for 2 months. its great!
